Hey Diver👋👋
I know it’s been a while, and you have missed me a lot (I have also missed you), but I want to do something different than I usually do. Well, not so different, but there will be no memes, witty statements, subscribe links or any link at all.
I'm only going to share a short story I wrote while on a brief evening walk. So just read through and tell me what you feel.
There Is God
Two friends went for a walk in the woods to distract temselves from the troubles of life and perhaps, add anther day to their short lives. After walking quite a distance, they sat down on a nearby bench to rest a while before returning home. As they rested, they appreciated the scene around them, marvelling at the wonders of nature The evening was cool, with the sun glowing with the evening light, already morphing into a reddish, burnt orange, as sure as any reddening dusk. The sky was a myriad of colours; shades of white, red and blue and orange blending together perfectly, displaying a show of beauty. A fierce wind was blowing, tossing the surrounding trees to and fro and raising little tornadoes of dust and sand. As this scene unfolded before their eyes, one of the friends bowed and worshipped God for His wonderful creation, thanking Him for the beautiful sight of nature. The other friend turned to him and said “you would be foolish to believe that it is a God who created all things. The truth is that there is no God”. Upon making that statement, the wind blew harder than before and carried the other friend's hat away. The first friend smiled and began using a bent stick to draw on the sandy floor. He asked the foolish one, “ If not God, then who commanded the wind to blow your hat away, and it obeyed instantly?" His question went unanswered so he continued probing his unbelieving friend. “Who is great enough to make the sky his canvas, and the clouds his paint, and each one is dark and light and every colour different from the other?” “Who tells the sun to rise to the east by the day and go down to the west by night and keeps it, that it may rise again on the morrow?” “Who do the great palm trees bow down to, that their roots are not cut-off and rise, only to bow again when tossed by the wind?” “Who causes the oceans to roar and shout for joy , the waves to hit the rocks and roll away in adoration?” “Who causes the rains to pour from the heavens, blessing the work of they that plant and causing the little ones to dance for joy?” “I tell you, if you can answer all these questions, then I would agree with you that there is no God, But know that the God you mock has sent the wind to return your hat.” True to his word, the wind blew again and brought with it the other friend's hat. The other friend who had been speechless all this while broke into reverence, and the two of them walked back the way they had come, worshipping the God of the heavens. The end.
Thank you for reading my short story, that’s all I have for you for now.
Yours Truly,
Adu the Master Diver.
An eye opener to how every bit of nature serves as an evidence to God's existence.
I am in love with this piece.
( do not look too far before you can find answers to your doubts or corrections to your beliefs is another lesson I'm getting from Deep dive with Adu). Thank you master diver✨.
